Patterns in nature - 4 week online art course

Who is it for?
Artists who want to bring inspiration from nature into figurative artwork.
What's in the course?
This is a course devoted to finding the curious and wonderful shapes, patterns, textures and colour in plants and foliage and recreating them in figurative fashion drawings.
WHAT MATERIALS WILL BE USED?
We’ll combine inks, coloured pencils, collage, coloured stamp pads, soft/oil pastels and markers to produce original nature inspired works.
WHAT WILL EACH CLASS LOOK LIKE?
In each of the 4 classes, we will look at a different group of plants to:
1. OBSERVE - identify the shapes, patterns, textures and colour and replicate them in ways to understand them better.

2. APPLY - bring what we have learnt and practised into a figurative subject to produce an original nature inspired piece.

General materials:
In addition to those specified in the materials above, you should have a supply of fresh paper at size A4 and A3 or similar, along with a range of different mark making tools such as brushes for the inks.
You can also bring along any other materials you would like to try, remember that the approach is very organic, so materials may suggest themselves!
Format: 4 x Zoom classes of 120 minutes with demos, Q&As and community forum on Discord with general comment.

CLASSES ARE RECORDED so you can catch up or watch again – available for 12 months after the course.
Course completion certificates can be issued upon request.

Feedback tier £130.00 (6 places available) - includes all of the above + personalised weekly feedback either written or a scheduled 20 minute zoom 'feedback chat' call each week and private discord channel. Please note that feedback chats can only be scheduled between 6-9pm UK time Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
